We open presents on Christmas morning, and spend the rest of the day just being together. Since I have my own family, we just hang out at home. My grandparents would come over and watch us open presents. We were always together on Christmas morning. McBride: My Christmas memories are of growing up in Kansas. SJR: What are your favorite Christmas memories? McBride, whose music has been a consistent presence on country radio for 20 years, spoke by telephone with The State Journal-Register of Springfield, Ill. “I have so many memories associated with Christmas music and Christmas songs. “The fact that we only listen to it (Christmas music) for a short time each year keeps it from getting old,” McBride said.
